Check out Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

a really long running second project for Fat Mike from NOFX and some guys from Lagwagon

So punkish covers of a lot of stuff.

I like their version of country songs - Country Roads, Jolene, Sunday Morning Coming Down, Ghost Riders in the Sky

But also other that is pop - Karma Chameleon - , old stuff - Sloop John B - or standards - Stairway to Heaven. etc etc.

Bittersweet Symphony is not a cover at all. It just uses a sample from an orchestral version of a Rolling Stones song.

The Verve actually had to give the Stones 100% royalties or face the wrath of their lawyers. Jagger and Richards signed back over the publishing last year though. Still must have cost the Verve shitloads of money.
